Re: Down To Earth

I have no idea why this keeps happening, but the Down To Earth, Yeah? post just plain old disappeared. Again, I have the e-mail thing set up so I have all the info to re-post it, enjoy (again). UPDATE: I've also fixed the Zshare downloads that weren't working.

Down To Earth, Yeah?

Another super diverse post (I lied apparently; no trance here), there's some house, some different hip hop, a synth pop song, and an electro-house remix. I promise I'll get my head on straight eventually. If you want a post on a particular genre, just drop a comment or let me know. Also, if you get into any of these artists, definitely check them out and buy their stuff. It's hard out here for a pimp. And music producers too; they need the support.

And, in unrelated news, holler at my boy DJ Movimiento out of NYC who just started up his ish.

My genre of the day: Synth Pop

Every Little Earthquake (Clap Mike Amour Remix) - Little Boots
This is a super housey remix of the Little Boots (see above pic) tune (with a little bit of a ghetto-tech beat thrown in there). The original sounds really different; it's more of an electronic alternative song with Little Boots' great voice over it, check it out for sure. Also, check out Little Boots on YouTube if you're bored; she has a bunch of videos of her just messing around on a keyboard doing very low-fi covers of songs like What Is Love. No YouTube link for this one; the only stream I could find was off another blog. Download is MediaFire instead of Zshare.

Money (feat. David Byrne, Chuck D, Ras Congo, Seu Jorge, and Z-Trip) - N.A.S.A.
Another from N.A.S.A., this one is a bit more funky than Gifted (see Kick The Speakers in Mar.) and a lot less electronic sounding. Loaded with guest talent, as per the M.O. of N.A.S.A.

Visitors (Stephen Hague Remix) - frYars
A bit of synth pop with Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode on vocals; there are definitely some hints of the 80's in it. The remix adds a touch of energy. Also no YouTube, the best I could do was a short preview.

Walking On A Dream (Sam La More Remix) - Empire Of The Sun
Sam La More throws on the electro-house in this remix. Catchy and a bit upbeat. If you like stuff like MGMT, definitely check out the original as well.

And a bonus song:
Stuck On Repeat (Fake Blood Remix) - Little Boots
A remix from Fake Blood (recently revealed to be Touche). Rough and a bit gritty, it adds an edge to the Little Boots tune (and a tight little piano bit). Listen to it all the way through, and maybe even a few times before you make your call. Fun note: Fake Blood/Touche inserts "fake blood" in all his remixes by chopping up the original vocals. The "fake blood" you hear in Stuck On Repeat? Not actually sung by Little Boots. Unfortunately, the download link no longer works.

NEXT POST: Part 1 of trance.
