Re: Don't Worry, Be Happy
Ugh. I just realized that this post was missing today, so it was too late to recover most of the links. I did manage to pull up the download links, so just google for the YouTube videos.
Don't Worry, Be Happy
Word. The theme of this post is kind of beachy and happy, and a bit like Ibiza. For the record, if anyone can get me to Ibiza, that would be ridiculously tight. My goal when I'm 85? Spend my last years in Ibiza. But, I still have to go there at least once before that, so if you can hook that up, holler at me. Also, this post is even longer than the last.
My genre of the day: Balearic Beat
What you need to be listening to:
I Shall Overcome (Axwell Remix) - Hard-Fi
A member of the Swedish House Mafia remixing Hard-Fi? No way (see Re: Sweden post in Mar.). Definitely a good feeling kind of song, exactly what you'd want to hear if you were kicking back on the sand, but also a pretty decent club track. Really picks up after about the 2 minute mark (DJ club mix intros are a bit long).

Music Sounds Better With You - Stardust
One of the songs mixed in Daft Punk's Encore (see Ca, C'est Paris post in Mar.), this is from one of Thomas Bangalter's (half of Daft Punk) side projects. More of the kicking back on an island vibe.

The Sun Is Shining (Darren Tate Remix) - DT8 Project
A bit over the top, but definitely happy and energetic. This remix is less cheesy than the original release (and its remixed by DT8, anyway). Unfortunately, this particular mix isn't on YouTube and the best I could find was a 2 minute preview of it.

Need To Feel Loved (12" Club Mix) / (Seb Fontaine & Jay P's Type Remix) - Reflekt feat. Delline Bass
I couldn't choose which version I liked more, so I decided to put both up. The club mix has a softer, island at sunset feel to it, while the remix has a sightly harder and more energetic guitar feel to it. They were actually both featured in It's All Gone Pete Tong, a mockumentary about a deaf DJ. But yeah, be your own judge on the songs.

White Lies (feat. Jessica Sutta) - Paul Van Dyk
Paul Van Dyk. I'm not even going to begin to get into him until I do a full blown post on trance. Back to this song, though; it alternates between energetic and a laid back atmosphere. Plus, it has a Pussycat Doll on vocals.

NEXT POST: May not come for a bit (I just gave you six songs). But, it should be good.
