This Is... The Remix
So I thought I would try something a little bit different with this post and give you all some good hip hop remixes and mash-ups. Also, I'll try to get back to putting in newer songs (with the exception of Know Your Genre); I've just been trying to spread some good older stuff.
And, now the blog is the third most popular google entry under "run-bpm" too. Score.
My genre of the day: Electro-House
Because there is no wikipedia article for hip hop remixes.
What you need to be listening to:
The Mule - Z-Ro, Devin The Dude, Juvenile
The remix by Ratatat off their second mixtape (which I'm told you can get for free online somewhere). Has the guitars and organs anyone who knows Ratatat would recognize, plus hip hop beats. Other notables off the mixtape: Stomp, Glock Nines, Alright. UPDATE: I've posted a link to download the entire album.

Ratatat Remixes Vol. II - Mixtape
W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E. - Wale
A remix of Justice's D.A.N.C.E., with Wale spitting over a re-fix of the song. Fun and catchy.

W.A.L.E.D.A.N.C.E. - Download
Falling In Shadows - Mick Boogie & Terry Urban
Off of the Viva La Hova mixtape, this is a mash-up of Jay-Z and Coldplay. A bunch of producers collaborated on the mixtape, and almost every song on it is great. I've included the link to the main site for the mixtape, hit it up (it's free too). Other good ones include the mash-ups of Clocks and Trouble.

Lose Yourself In The Shook Ones - Eminem vs. Mobb Deep
A mash-up of Eminem's "Lose Yourself" over the beat of Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones, pt. II", from KonTempt who makes a lot of these (google him). There's no YouTube of the song, but trust me, the mix is right on and if you like either song, you'll probably like this one.
Lose Yourself In The Shook Ones - Download
Also, holler (again) at my boy ZP Boy Wonder. There are a lot of tight remixes on his new mixtape (think "Touch You," a remix of Andre 3000's "Green Light," etc.).
NEXT POST: Know Your Genre, finally. The genre? Drums 'n' Bass. Also, a random Calvin Harris remix.

Ach Ja or Nicht Nicht?
Eurodance. It's kind of a guilty pleasure, but hey some of it's actually good.
A perfect example from Gunther and the Sunshine Girls (pic above, trust me he needs the huge pic):
The Ding Dong Song - YouTube
Just kidding, though it's great in it's own way.
On a completely unrelated note, I figured out more stuff about subscribing. If you do it by e-mail, you'll get an e-mail at the end of the day if and only if, there's a new post/are new posts. So it won't spam you up. Ballin'. In related news, you can actually find this by googling "runbpm" as one word. My next goal? Getting "run-bpm" to turn it up too. UPDATE: Google links to the latest post, so you actually need to click on the archive to get to the rest if you come through google.
My genre of the day: Eurodance
What you need to be listening to:
Just a disclaimer, none of these songs are as ridiculous as actual Eurodance, and are actually more housey than anything else. In fact, they are house. I promise they don't suck.
But they are very energetic and European club. And not very new.
Show Me Love (Club Mix feat. Robin S) - Mobin Masters
A good club remix of the Show Me Love, which is also a great song in it's own right. Keeps the same ridiculously catchy riff and adds some piano and strings.
Show Me Love - YouTube
Show Me Love - Download
Redlight (Club Mix) - Ian Carey
Sounds like it could come from Eric Prydz (the Call On Me guy; there will definitely be some of him in future posts). The club mix is a bit long, but clubby.

Arabian Adventure 2 - DJ Antoine
An older song from the Swiss DJ with a thick Arabian (don't hold me to that) string bit over a banging beat. Starts off slow, but speeds up when the beat drops.

Love Shy (Paul Emanuel Remix) - Platnum
A song that's been remixed a million and one times, this is the best electro-house version out there from one half of remix dons Haji & Emanuel. Catchy melody over a sharp beat.

Love Shy - Download
Also, you should be listening to:
The Boogie That Be - The Black Eyed Peas
Absolutely nothing to do with anything but it's tight and stuck in my head right now. Plus, I think it's a pretty popular song.

More T-Pain and Nigerians In The Basement
So this post has absolutely nothing to do with T-Pain, or Nigerians (Nigeria! Brrratt) for that matter. But hey, who's counting - I can make inside jokes too. Just a heads up to everyone, since I hop around genres so much, there will definitely be some times the songs won't be your thing, but that doesn't mean they'll suck in the next post too, right?
Also, if you subscribe, you'll know when I update and can get yourself some new songs that much faster. The e-mail one works too, I tried it.
And nope, no Know Your Genre. Yet.
My genre of the day: Remixes
What you need to be listening to:
Womanizer (Benny Benassi Club Mix) - Britney Spears
The remix isn't all that different from the original, but it throws in some tight Benassi club energy. Plus, you can delude yourself into thinking you're not actually listening to Britney Spears. I know I do.
Womanizer - YouTube
Womanizer - Download
Day 'N' Nite (Crookers Remix) - Kid Cudi
A remix from the boys out of Milan, Crookers bring their signature ghettotech touch. If you liked the original, you'll probably like this, it's just a bit more energetic and fun.

Day 'N' Nite - Download
Paper Planes (Diplo Street Remix) - M.I.A.
Pretty much the same as the original with some other rappers laying down their rhymes on the track for variety. Noticing a theme? UPDATE: Check out the DFA remix (YouTube link included here) that was featured in Slumdog Millionaire.

Love Can't Turn Around (D-Troy Mix) - D-Troy and Herbick
And now for something completely different. The original was a huge, huge hit way back in 1986 (it being a remix of an Isaac Hayes song from even more back in the day). This is a very, very euro-dancey remix from '07. UPDATE: Download link fixed.

My first post is also full of great remixes, hit that up if you need another fix.
NEXT POST: Know Your Genre?
Fancy Some Euphoric?
I just figured how to use zshare. What that means is that I'll be able to upload my own copies of the songs instead of hunting around for download links for you guys. Hoo-ray for consistency! Unfortunately, I already hunted down some of the links for this post's songs, so suck it up.
Also, there are apparently a million and one ways to subscribe to the blog, not all of them requiring a Gmail account. Nah baby nah, just do it.
I'm Not Alone (Radio Rip) - Calvin Harris
So I got excited and put this one up before I even got halfway through with the post. Calvin Harris is back. This tune is "euphoric," "large," and "happy" according to the Radio 1 DJ who broke it (a bit ago, but bear with me I just started this blog). Sounds like my kind of woman. Or song. Whatever, this is a great, energetic, house-y song.
I'm Not Alone - Not YouTube, but Streaming Sound

In other news,
My genre of the day: I don't actually know what to call it. It's like indie rock with electronic stuff in it? I think it's called Electronica. Don't quote me on that.
Also, unlike last post, the tunes posted will actually have something to do with the genre of the day.
Oh and Know Your Genre? I promise I'll get around to that eventually.
What you need to be listening to:
Remember Love - Noze
If it's good enough for French electro wunderkind Surkin, it's good enough for me (he likes it). With a ridiculously catchy piano riff and french guys trying to speak english, how can you lose? Unfortunately my version is protected and the only other link I could find was to download the entire EP (all two songs). The one you want isn't the remix. UPDATE: The download link may or may not work. My b. Check it out on itunes.

Golden Cage - The Whitest Boy Alive
Kind of like a summery Franz Ferdinand, but better. The video is almost as sick as the song; gather some drunk buddies, put it on, and let the freak out begin. "Where'd the box go, bro??"
My version of this is also protected (what are the odds), so I put the link to the song in itunes.

She Loves Everybody - Chester French
Sounds like... I don't know, catchy indie rock? It's good, just take my word for it. I came across it on late, late, late night MTV of all places.

On The Wheels Of Steel
To kick off this blog:
I'm gonna use this blog to spread new music/stuff you may not have heard of (probably a lot of the stuff), holler at friends with stuff coming out, and most importantly, hype myself up. I'm going to try to keep it to stuff you should listen to, and keep out stuff that's just there because it's weird and shows that I know more about post-minimal-breakbeat music from Sweden than you do (less art house music in the basement). That said, I'm gonna try to find fresh stuff you won't find on itunes top 100 and bring you the best of other blogs. When I can, I'm gonna try to give you a youtube link, and a download link.
I'm DJ Chris BP, BPM, or BP on the wheels of steel (please hire me). Check out some tracks on the myspace page (new one in the works): http://www.myspace.com/onlydjbpm
But who really cares. More music.
My genre of the day: 2-Step Garage
What you need to be listening to:
Meddle (AC Slater & DJ Skeet Skeet Remix feat. GoldieLocks) - Little Boots
This has been circulating the blogs, but since I'm just kicking it off, I figured I'd include it in mine. Tight electro-grime beat with GoldieLocks (see pic) dropping her signature flow on the track.

Little Bit (AutoErotique Bootleg Remix) - Lykke Li
If you don't have the original though, get it. I went searching for a remix with a little more energy and came up with this electro mix of the song.

What You Think About It (DJ Pyro Mix) - Lil Wayne ft. Kayne West
I got this little mashup by way of my boy Otega (holler). Adds some house electro flair to weezy and kanyeezy.

Provider (GoldieLocks N.E.R.D. Refix) - GoldieLocks
More of the girl from Croydon laying it down over this N.E.R.D. tune. Couldn't find a YouTube link, but just imagine Provider by N.E.R.D. as sung by GoldieLocks. Or you could just not be lazy, take my word for it, and download it.

Also, holler at my boy ZP Boy Wonder out of NYC who just dropped his first mixtape. Check out his facebook/myspace for some info and some funny vids.
